In September of 2023, Next Steps for You opened its doors to serve and provide faith-based support to those facing pregnancy decisions in the southern Adirondack and northern Saratoga County region.
As we’ve grown into this mission and implemented our programs, it has become clear to us that our original organizational structure has some limitations with regard to our ability to provide for the best client experience as well as our ability to maintain effective communication with our donors and supporters and with the community at large. That structure, which placed responsibility for all these areas solely on the Executive Director, has proven to be more demanding than can reasonably be expected of one person.
For this reason, the Board of Directors has decided that our client support will be best served if we restructure to have a designated Client Services Director separate from the Executive Director. Our current Executive Director, Yvette Harris, having served admirably as Executive Director, has expressed her interest in moving over to this new Client Services position. This will enable her to focus on utilization of her skills and experience in direct client advocacy, as well as management of client services, training and support of our volunteers who serve as client advocates and mentors.
We are therefore announcing our search for the best candidate to serve as our Executive Director. This position will now be focused on marketing and media relations, community outreach, staff supervision, organizational development and fundraising, and implementation of policies and procedures approved by the Board of Directors.

Position Title: Executive Director for Pregnancy Center
Next Steps for You, Inc., a faith-based pregnancy center in Glens Falls, NY, is seeking an Executive Director to oversee the administration, development, marketing, programs, budgeting, staffing, and strategic plan of the organization. Key duties include marketing and media relations, community outreach, staff supervision, and participation in fundraising, as well as implementation of policies and procedures approved by the Board of Directors.
Basic Qualifications include: a) a lifestyle that exhibits committed Christian faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; b) a strong commitment and dedication to the sanctity of all human life and sexual purity; c) a passion for the life-affirming mission, vision and ministry of NS4U; d) a professional appearance and manner, with strong skills in interpersonal communication, organizational problem solving, public speaking, professional writing and effective media relations; e) an ability to provide encouragement and direction to the staff and volunteers; f) the ability to carry out responsibilities with little or no supervision; g) total respect for and adherence to confidentiality; and the ability to develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the center.
Preferred Qualifications include: a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, preferably in a related field or related experience equivalent; two years of experience as a volunteer or employee in a non-profit organization; two years of experience in an administrative position with direct experience in supervising paid staff in an efficient and professional office; two years of experience in marketing, fund-raising and public relations/development.
This is a full-time, exempt position, which includes some evening and weekend work.
